Communications Specialist, Seaboard Foods

The communications specialist is part of the communications team and will complete corporate communications, internal communications and public relations functions. This person is responsible for coordinating and/or assisting in tactical execution for larger communications projects, including executing tactics in communications plans for internal and external audiences, social and digital communications and written internal and external content.



  • Complete day-to-day communications tactics, including researching, writing, meeting established timelines, while prioritizing tactics based on business needs and the goals of the communications department.
  • Execute and implement tactical communications materials for print, digital, social media and a variety of mediums while collaborating with the business and departments supported by the communications team.
  • Provide technical and creative expertise such as writing, working with outside creative resources, creating presentations, designing and photography.
  • Understand business and project objectives and present communications and public relations projects that engage audiences through print, digital, social and other mediums.
  • Write content for digital, print and social media for both internal and external communications.

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in communications, journalism or relevant education required.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training in project management in a corporate communications or public relations firm environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of standard programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and basic DSLR camera skills.
  • Background in agriculture or manufacturing or previous experience with an agriculture or manufacturing-based company, association or other manufacturing or agriculture related entity preferred.
  • Exceptional AP writing and editing skills required.
  • Strong project management skills required.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.
